James A. Kopf

revanss.jpg (6894 bytes)Mr. Kopf is the President of Healthcare Oversight, Inc. Healthcare Oversight is a solution-driven company concentrating on health care issues and problems confronting both the public and private sector of the health care community.

Mr. Kopf’s prior experience includes 26 years as a Federal law enforcement officer with the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Kopf was Director of the Program Investigations Branch for the Office of Investigations, Office of Inspector General. His responsibilities included oversight of national investigations and initiatives; tracking and projection of health care fraud trends; and liaison with Congress, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Justice, and other law enforcement agencies. Mr. Kopf co-authored, and was the director of Operation Restore Trust, a Presidential initiative which set the current standard for healthcare fraud investigations.

Before joining the Office of Inspector General in 1989, Mr. Kopf was a Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving 13 years with the Bureau in Detroit, Michigan and Washington, D.C. His duties included investigating organized crime and public corruption matters as well as compliance issues within the Bureau.

Estes Park Institute is an independent, nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to conduct six educational conferences per year and to provide opportunities for year round learning for health care leaders.

National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association Institute (NHCAA), 1989 - Present
The NHCAA Institute is a not-for-profit educational foundation. Its mission is to provide professional education and training to private and public sector staff responsible for the detection, investigation, prosecution, and prevention of health care fraud. The board develops course curriculum for 15 regional and one annual conference; interviews and selects speakers; reviews and evaluates programs; and ensures the integrity of the institute through a rigid compliance plan of ethical standards set by the board.
