Howard J. Gershon, FAAHC, CHE
Howard is a Founding Principal of New Heights Group, LLC, a management consulting firm with clients located throughout the United States. He has spent over 30 years working with Boards and Senior Managers on strategic planning, market research, organization development, facility development and program/service development initiatives. His clients have included a variety of community based, not for profit, health service providers, State, Local and Federal government agencies as well as publicly held corporations.
Howard is a frequent speaker and author on topics such as innovation, partnering and networking strategies, how to make mergers work, benchmarking organizational performance, program/service integration, market positioning, and new ventures. He has served as a faculty member for the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been a featured speaker at national conferences sponsored by the American Hospital Association, Health Forum, National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems, Forum for Healthcare Strategists, Behavioral Healthcare Tomorrow and others. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Strategic Healthcare Marketing, has published a series of articles on strategic marketing issues in The Journal of Healthcare Management and is regularly quoted in national trade journals.
He is a Certified Healthcare Executive through the ACHE, and has served as a member of the Regent’s Advisory Council for that same organization. He is a Fellow and Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants where he is certified in strategic planning, facility planning and physician organization and management and was the recipient of the AAHC’s Minkalis Award in 1997. He has also served as Secretary of the Board of the Health Services Management and Policy Alumni Association at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and has been a member of the Strategic Planning Committee of the American Hospital Association’s Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development as well as several community organizations. He received his Masters Degree in Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and his undergraduate degree from Alfred University, Alfred, New York.
