William M. Dwyer, MBA

William M. Dwyer, MBA, Health Care Strategist, serves as an Executive Advisor, to several health care related organizations and participates on the Board of Directors of several prominent American Health Care Organizations and Health Care Systems. As an acknowledged speaker/ strategist in this field, Bill is frequently sought after as a speaker for national and local Leadership Board Retreats, and has conducted hundreds of these presentations over the past decade, both in the U.S. and abroad. 

 Previously, he had joined the Cerner Corporation to engage with senior-level health care executives to provide comprehensive insights on emerging industry trends and issues. Bill came to Cerner to oversee specific business development initiatives relating to future patient care information technologies, and established innovative arrangements with large progressive integrated health organizations.

Before joining Cerner, Dwyer was a divisional vice president of strategic marketing at Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, IL. In that position, he was responsible for researching and developing strategic analyses on the health care and medical technology sectors of the U.S. economy. He held a number of key senior positions during his tenure, after joining Abbott in 1977 as a hospital sales representative in Rochester, MN.

Dwyer has served on a number of national boards of directors, was a founding board member for several health care organizations, and currently serves on the Board of Banner Health in Phoenix. Bill is a distinguished lecturer and has contributed to many journal and book publications.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, and a master’s in business administration with distinction from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, with concentrations in marketing and health systems management. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma society for high academic achievement in study and practice of business, and is a recipient of the Laura G. Jackson Distinguished Alumnus Award, for Northwestern University's Health Services Management Program, and the Ohio State University graduate program’s Distinguished Service Award. Bill is listed in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the World.
