A Special Preview of
2008 Center for Healthcare Governance Programs
Center Online Resources

As 2007 comes to an end, the Center for Healthcare Governance would like to wish you a very happy holiday season and a healthy and prosperous new year! In 2008, the Center will continue its tradition of providing CEOs, trustees, and executive and clinical leadership with the tools and resources they need to achieve the "best practices" in health care governance.

Our National Symposia on Governing and Leading Healthcare Organizations will be presented in January and September of 2008. Each program features new content and presenters, and covers the full spectrum of governance and leadership topics, including emerging trends, quality and patient safety, organizational culture and trustees' evolving roles and responsibilities. Our symposia allow participants to explore the connection between exemplary governance processes and practices to improve organizational performance. Our 1-1/2 day National Conferences build on our curriculum-based approach to education and offer participants an intensive study of key topics to help them best prepare for their role on the board.

Leading in Challenging Times: Responding to the Changing Environment

January 6-9, 2008 - The Ritz Carlton, Naples, FL

More Information | Registration Information | Symposium Brochure

The Center for Healthcare Governance presents its winter Symposium on governing and leading health care organizations. In this three-day program at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Naples, trustees and executive leadership will gain insights into the trends that are dictating reform and learn strategies and tools for navigating this increasingly complex environment.

In plenary sessions, industry experts will offer analyses of the contextual issues framing the health care environment – from rising expectations for transparency and accountability, to shifts in health care financing, to the transformation of health care into a digital industry and new expectations for creating sustainable organizational cultures. In small group, interactive sessions, we’ll focus on emerging models and innovative strategies for honing governance oversight capacity. Your board will enhance its ability to promote quality improvement, assess risk, and inspire organizational excellence.

Consider arriving early to enjoy the weekend in Naples and register for the Sunday afternoon pre-conference workshop. Newer trustees especially will benefit from this intensive session focused on what it means – conceptually and practically – to be a fiduciary under the law.
