A Conversation with Lawrence Prybil. Moderated by Mary K. Totten
Governance in Community Health Systems presents the findings of a two-year study that compares governance structures, practices and culture in these systems with benchmarks of good governance and identifies opportunities for improvement. Lawrence Prybil, Ph.D., Professor of Health Management at the University of Iowa and a principal researcher for the study, reviews key study findings regarding a number of board practices, including board composition, board development and performance evaluation. He also discusses what study results mean today and into the future for governance in systems, which encompass well over half of all U.S. hospitals.
This program can be used by boards, executives and governance support staff and includes:
a 20-minute interview with Lawrence Prybil, Ph.D.
a set of Power Point slides, including discussion questions, that accompanies the interview;
a facilitation guide that describes program components and provides suggestions for how to use them; and
an evaluation form that solicits feedback on the program and allows participants to indicate additional information they would like to receive about the program topic.
