Legislative and Regulatory Update - Rick Pollack, Executive Vice President, American Hospital Association, Washington, DC
An update on the latest from Washington - both policy and politics - as activity heats up for the year. On the eve of the presidential election with a new administration guaranteed and health care reform at the top of every agenda, participants learned what America's hospitals can expect from the candidates and Congress and sorted through the candidates' proposals to overhaul the health care system, control costs, and expand coverage. Short- and long-term implications for hospital and health systems were reviewed as well as possible actions to affect your hospital as well as policy issues and ideas on the horizon.
